You live your boring life and boom, you come to an island…

The meaning of word “happiness” has changed completely.

Some days before I jumped into Atlantic Ocean for a short snorkelling and my chest was about to explode from the feeling that something is changing and something that I didn’t understood for a long time - just popped into my mind//

Maybe it was just the effect of cold water, maybe my big wish to change or realise something was kicking in my head with its invisible shoe…

I don’t know, but the feeling was awesome!

I had millions of different thoughts in my mind, about people that surrounds me, about work, my free time, my life - the one that I live now, and the one that I want to live later.

And it all happened just because I jumped into the water//

More than a week ago I came into small volcanic island called Graciosa (Azores) and I already had an opportunity to get to know with almost all the friends that Sonia (woman, whom I live here) has. Majority of them are old people who arrived here from Germany, France or Portugal (mainland), they left their city lives behind them and came into this island for a peaceful and graceful everyday life.

Local men - work as a farmers or fishermans, they have their boats, go to hunt for a fish or sharks and when they come back, they sell the prey or share it with others. I got some taste also! We tried it raw and fried// I had a big smile on my face and I was completely silent while eating. The taste of a fresh fish was just amazing

Perfect life, I would consider. Everything here (almost the same as in mainland) moves very slowly. People are relaxed, they smile a lot, they bring each other food or other gifts, everybody knows everybody so there are also no crimes committed (since you have no where to run…).

The main danger here - rats. These nasty parasites have some kind of virus and if you touch or drink water that they had peed in - you are basically fu**ed:) but you have to be careful and nothing is going to happen:) trust me, all is good

Further more, freetime. It may look like there is nothing to do in the small island, but you are very wrong if you think that way! They have Pilates, water yoga, choir, football and some restaurants to go in! Aaaand they also have their own motorcycle gang, how cool is that?! I don’t even start talking about camping parks in which they prepare grills with perfect wood for tourists and local people to have…

I believe, it is more than enough for a small island to have, isn’t it?

Well, I still have a lot to see, taste and get to know with, but for now - that is it from me!

Live your life and be happy about it because one day you will die from some kind of lung cancer even though you haven’t held a single cigarette in your hands, without knowing what the hell true joy and fulfilment is.

See ya, xx
